Reports directly to the Global Sr. Manager for Fit, Lasts, and Technical support with dotted line administratively to the Country Manager.
Leads evaluation and confirmation of fit for new projects in commercialization and provides support in production lasts review and confirmation in all factories assigned to him. Corollarily, he provides technical assistance to the BU team in ensuring fit integrity, comfort, and performance of new shoes in commercialization and production .
Setup fitting operational guideline and monitors compliance and proper implementation to ensure potential risk of products integrity are caught and resolved in the fit test evaluation and production lasts management.
Assists the business units assigned to him in enhancing deep understanding and technical capability in Last and Pattern engineering through regular training and on-the-job assistance.
Supervises functionally and administratively the fit analysts under his supervision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fit Test Center Role (45%)
- Fitting Team Operational Guidelines: Oversee proper implementation of guidelines and conformance to proper fit evaluation processes. Oversee the management of statistical analysis reporting for fit tests.
- Product Integrity Assurance: Support fit analyzer alert systems and work towards eliminating potential risks to product integrity through fit test evaluations and reporting.
- Fitting Team Oversight: Set up and monitor fitting team guidelines and processes. Manage and supervise the daily activities of the fitting team, including workload management and digital file database archiving.
- Fit Test Monitoring: Continuously monitor fit testing progress, evaluate their outcomes, and offer insights and technical recommendation for improvement and resolution of fit issues. Manage fit testing timelines and release of reports.
- Fit Tester Management: Manage and monitor the recruitment and retention of both internal and external qualified, dependable fit testers on a quarterly basis. Foster a strong fit testers community.
Technical Support (35%)
- Production lasts management : Take the lead in the review and confirmation of new production lasts. Offer technical support to commercialization in addressing last-related pattern and fit challenges. Manage and update the production lasts master data and gauges.
- Troubleshoot Shoe Issues: Provide support in resolving fit and comfort -related issues incommercialization and in production . Participate in the review of new styles to be commercialized and extending technical assistance, particularly in addressing patterns and lasts issues.
- Collaboration with Commercialization Team: Attend commercialization teardown meetings and provide technical support for new styles from the perspective of fit integrity , pattern improvements for operational efficiency and cost.
- Training: Provide training to Fit Test analyst in accordance Deckers brands fit standards and fit evaluation procedures. Provide training to commercialization and production on fit protocols, foot measurements and foot morphology.
Last Support (20%)
- Lasts Library Management: Manage the Lasts library. Collaborate with the development and commercialization team to compile all Deckers brand production lasts into the last library. Conduct thorough checks of last measurements and last gauge patterns to ensure accuracy.
- Last Measurement Data Management: Oversee the management of production last measurements data and information within the Deckers systems. Work closely with the commercialization team in ensuring timely and accurate uploading of all Deckers brand last data and information into appropriate Deckers systems.
- Deckers Production Last Management: This includes periodic audits of lasts in shoe factories - conducted at least once a year. Additionally, provide last technical training and new fitting analyst training. Coordinate with production lasts suppliers in ensuring quality and proper marking of production lasts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University / College Graduate with industrial Engineering / Material Science is preferred.
- At least 15 Years work experience in footwear industry.
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Last and Pattern.
- Factory Experiences is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
- Ability to network and influence internal and external resources.
- Competent with both spoken and written English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
