The Maintenance Store Management role is established to effectively manage and control maintenance spare parts and consumables to ensure their availability in supporting plant reliability and operational continuity.
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring compliant and organized storage conditions, managing efficient material flow, and enabling the timely supply of materials required for maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Mandatory objectives (Applied for all employees and contractor): Implement and comply with Occupational Health Safety & Environment (OHSE) Policy, Quality & Environmental Management System, BSL Policy, Code of Conduct (How We Work), Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) and Government Regulations.
- Manage and maintain an accurate computerized inventory system for all spare parts, consumables, and special-order items.
- Monitor minimummaximum stock levels and safety stock. Identify critical, slowmoving, and obsolete spare parts and report to management.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for quantity and specification.
- Coordinate with end users for technical verification when required.
- Report any discrepancies or damages found in received goods to Procurement or the Supplier.
- Ensure proper labelling and identification of materials.
- Issue spare parts in accordance with approved work orders.
- Maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles where applicable.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe storage conditions.
- Recording of all stock movements (GR, GI, transfer, adjustments) in the system and ensure proper documentation and filing for audit purposes.
- Conduct cycle counts and support periodic stock audits. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
- Support cost tracking of spare parts consumption.
- Comply with company safety and material handling standards.
- Maintain stock availability to support maintenance operations.
- Support maintenance cost tracking through material usage monitoring
Qualification And/or Experience Required
- Diploma or bachelor's engineering degree equivalent
- Basic understanding of industrial parts and maintenance parts
- Basic mathematical skills to develop and maintain invoices and inventories
- Proficient with or able to quickly learn the inventory system
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs
- Experience with inventory systems
- Familiar with stock take and inventory control processes
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualification And/or Experience Required
- At least two years of experience in an industrial warehouse.
