Job Description

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities for data centre critical infrastructure and building systems. This role ensures maintenance work is planned efficiently to minimize downtime, optimize resource allocation, and maintain high availability of mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities :

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for data center mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems including UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, PDUs, switchgear, and fire suppression systems. Create detailed work packages with specifications, parts lists, procedures, labor estimates, and safety requirements. Schedule maintenance activities to minimize impact on operations while ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.

Work Order Management Review, prioritize, and plan corrective maintenance work orders based on criticality and resource availability. Coordinate with operations teams to schedule maintenance windows and obtain necessary approvals. Track work order completion, document findings, and maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

Resource Coordination Coordinate internal maintenance technicians, engineers, and external contractors to ensure adequate staffing for planned activities. Procure necessary parts, materials, and specialized tools in advance of maintenance windows. Manage vendor relationships and ensure contractor compliance with data center policies and procedures.

Preventive Maintenance Program Maintain and optimize the preventive maintenance program for all critical systems. Ensure PM schedules align with manufacturer specifications, warranty requirements, and regulatory compliance. Analyze maintenance history to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to equipment reliability.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Engineering or Facilities Management. Experience with Tier III or Tier IV data center facilities. Knowledge of DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools. Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
  • Education & Experience Associate's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, hospitals, manufacturing). Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure components and critical power/cooling systems.
  • Technical Skills Proficiency with CMMS platforms . Understanding of electrical systems (480V/208V distribution, UPS, generators, PDUs). Knowledge of HVAC systems specific to data center cooling (CRAC, CRAH, chilled water). Familiarity with building automation systems (BMS) and monitoring tools. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings.

Core Competencies Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong analytical skills for maintenance data analysis and reporting. Effective communication skills to coordinate with operations, engineering, and vendor teams. Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy in documentation and planning.
