About The Role
As a Legal Manager, you are responsible to manage and oversee legal matters related to procurement activities, vendor relationships, and general commercial agreements. This role provides legal advice throughout the procurement process, reviews and negotiates agreements, manages contractual risks, and ensures that commercial arrangements adequately protect the company's interests.
What will you be doing
- Provide legal support and advice for procurement activities, from sourcing and vendor selection through contract execution.
- Review procurement documents, including RFQ/RFP documentation, vendor proposals, purchase-related agreements, and supporting documents.
- Review and advise on procurement terms, conditions, commercial arrangements, and contractual obligations.
- Identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks associated with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Support Procurement and business teams in resolving contractual issues and disputes with vendors.
- Develop standard legal terms, clauses, and templates for procurement activities.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various General Agreements and commercial contracts.
- Handle agreements such as Master Service Agreements, Service Agreements, Supply Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Maintenance Agreements, Lease-related agreements, NDAs, and other business contracts.
- Lead or support contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
- Maintain and monitor the company's contract database, including contract status, validity, renewal, expiration, and key obligations.
- Monitor contractual commitments and ensure relevant business functions are aware of their obligations.
- Review contract amendments, extensions, renewals, and termination documents.
- Establish and improve contract management processes, standards, and templates.
- Provide guidance to business users on contract interpretation and implementation.
What do we look for
- Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Corporate Legal, Commercial Legal, Procurement Legal, or Contract Management.
- Strong experience handling procurement-related agreements and general commercial contracts.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and third-party service providers.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation.
- Experience in retail, FMCG, consumer goods, property, manufacturing, or other large-scale businesses is preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, procurement processes, and contractual risk management.
- Experience managing multiple contracts and negotiations simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
