Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the legal department, including supervising and mentoring a team of legal professionals.
  • Provide sound and timely legal advice to all departments and levels of management on a wide range of legal matters pertinent to insurance operations, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, product development, claims, data privacy, and litigation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, contracts, and agreements to protect the company's interests.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the insurance sector in Indonesia and advise on their impact on the company's operations.
  • Manage and oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes involving the company, working closely with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, and business units, to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business strategies.
  • Represent the company in interactions with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and external legal partners.
  • Manage the legal budget and external legal spend effectively.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university. A master's degree in law or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in legal practice, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Possession of a valid advocate license in Indonesia (PERADI).
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian insurance laws and regulations, corporate law, contract law, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Proven experience in managing complex legal matters and litigation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professional judgment.
  • Proficiency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and spoken) is essential.
