Lead and manage the legal department, including supervising and mentoring a team of legal professionals.
Provide sound and timely legal advice to all departments and levels of management on a wide range of legal matters pertinent to insurance operations, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, product development, claims, data privacy, and litigation.
Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, contracts, and agreements to protect the company's interests.
Monitor and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the insurance sector in Indonesia and advise on their impact on the company's operations.
Manage and oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes involving the company, working closely with external legal counsel when necessary.
Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, and business units, to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business strategies.
Represent the company in interactions with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and external legal partners.
Manage the legal budget and external legal spend effectively.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable university. A master's degree in law or relevant professional certification is a plus.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in legal practice, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Possession of a valid advocate license in Indonesia (PERADI).
In-depth knowledge of Indonesian insurance laws and regulations, corporate law, contract law, and dispute resolution procedures.
Proven experience in managing complex legal matters and litigation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professional judgment.
Proficiency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and spoken) is essential.
