In the Legal department of DHL, we provide legal support to all Business Units of DHL. We review and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers and partners, provide regulatory and legal advice on a broad range of matters and issues affecting our businesses, and also provide support in dispute resolution management.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Legal, Indonesia, you will play a critical role in providing legal support across the organization and ensuring the business operates within a strong governance and compliance framework.

You will:

• Support the implementation of global and regional legal strategies at the country level, promoting consistency, governance, and effective utilization of legal tools and processes.
• Partner with business leaders and corporate functions to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice that supports business objectives.
• Identify and advise on legal risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
• Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, business partners, government agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Provide legal guidance across a broad range of commercial, contractual, operational, and corporate matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation related to business transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct legal research and proactively advise management on legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the business.
• Support the development and delivery of legal awareness and compliance training programs for internal stakeholders.
• Manage and assist with dispute resolution, litigation, claims, and other contentious matters in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Support the management of external legal counsel, ensuring quality service delivery and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to fostering a culture of compliance, integrity, and sound corporate governance across the organization.
  
  

Requirements


You should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Commercial pragmatism, ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia;
• Minimum 3 years of legal practice gained from a reputable commercial law firm or in-house legal department of a MNC or large local company in Indonesia;
• Some litigation experience an advantage;
• Good law degree from a good Indonesian law school or university; and
• Qualified to advise on Indonesian laws.
