Legal & Compliance Manager

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Jotun Indonesia, established in 1996, operates in 4 segments Decorative Paints; and Performance Coatings comprising of Marine, Protective and Powder Coatings.

The position will represent the company in all legal matters based on Jotun's values and in accordance with local, regional, segment, and corporate objectives and guidelines. This position will be located in Bekasi and reporting to the Head of Finance & IT.

A. Legal Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts (customers, vendors, services, agents, etc).
• Provide legal advisory to management on corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
• Manage external law firms and coordinate legal actions, disputes, and litigation.
• Support legal due diligence processes.

B. Compliance Management

• Lead implementation of compliance policies: anticorruption, competition law, data protection, trade sanctions, and business ethics.
• Oversee sanctions screening processes for customers, suppliers, vessels, and related parties, aligned with communications with Regional and Group compliance.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and internal audits.
• Ensure timely reporting of compliance breaches and support investigations.
• Develop and maintain the legal compliance register, following principles from compliance documents.

C. Main Tasks

• Manage contract lifecycle and legal documentation.
• Conduct screening and duediligence checks for customers, vessels, suppliers, etc.
• Prepare legal opinions and compliance advisory notes.
• Ensure compliance with trade sanctions, export/import restrictions, and global beneficialowner checks.
• Coordinate with HSEQ, HR, Finance, Regional Compliance, and Corporate Legal.
• Manage compliance reporting dashboards and audit records.

Job Requirements:

Required:

• Holds master's degree from law.
• Experience minimum 8 years as Legal & Compliance Manager.
• Having broad knowledge and understanding of laws applicable to company's business, particularly in area of corporate, commercial, data privacy and anti-trust laws.
• Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to think strategically and exercise sound judgment in delivering legal solutions.
• Proven expertise in managing complex matters and serving as a trusted business partner to support organizational strategy and objectives.
• Skilled in analyzing regulatory and commercial requirements, assessing and mitigating legal risks, and providing practical recommendations to the business.

Preferred:

• Having experience in Manufacture.
• Having systematic approach, uses a methodical and systematic approach; plans ahead define clear priorities and allocates resources effectively
• Having constructive teamwork, co-operates well with others.
• Domicile or able to work at Bekasi, MM2100 Industrial Estate.
