Learning Support Assistant (LSAT)

Responsibilities

1. To help and support the student attending mainstream class and to provide guidance in completing classroom activities/works when necessary
2. To help the student achieve goals stated in his/her Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) by implementing the accommodations for the student
3. To bridge communication between the classroom teacher, the student, Learning Support, parents, and the IEP team on the student's progress/concerns.
4. To perform regular data collection for the IEP team (keep a comprehensive written record)

Qualifications

• Good Teaching Qualifications (Certified Shadow Teacher/learning support assistant)
• S1 degree minimum
• Experience in teaching students with special needs (preferably as a Shadow Teacher/Learning Support Assistant)
• Good communication skills and a positive and caring approach
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Understanding of education
• Experience in coordinating with parents to support a student with learning difficulties
• Strong demonstrable Christian faith
• Ability to work cooperatively as well as to work in a team
• Good administrative skills
