Salary: Competitive
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia – Hybrid
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time
Are you passionate about education and ready to help schools and institutions access high-quality English learning and assessment solutions
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
We are looking for a dynamic Learning and Assessment Consultant to join our team in Jakarta. This is an opportunity to build strong relationships across the education sector, develop new and existing business, and contribute to the growth and recognition of Cambridge English products and services in Indonesia.
About The Role
As a Learning and Assessment Consultant, you will support the delivery of annual revenue and profitability targets for your allocated territory. Working closely with the Country Head or Country Manager, you will identify and develop new opportunities, support existing customers, and provide consultative advice on the full range of Cambridge English learning and assessment solutions.
You will be responsible for building a strong pipeline of leads and opportunities, keeping customer and activity information accurately recorded in Salesforce, and sharing market insight, competitor intelligence and customer feedback to support future growth.
Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:
- Carrying out direct visits to potential new customers in line with agreed priorities and the country strategic plan.
- Supporting existing customers after business development activity to maximise revenue across Cambridge English products and services.
- Collaborating with Marketing to strengthen recognition of Cambridge certificates and support local events and campaigns.
- Developing trusted relationships with schools, institutions, exams centres, distributors, agents, teachers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Planning and prioritising customer visits effectively, including travel within the allocated territory and occasional attendance at events or conferences.
- Acting in line with Cambridge University Press & Assessment values, ethics and compliance policies, and raising any concerns promptly through the appropriate channels.
Based in Jakarta, this role operates on a hybrid working model, with a mix of office‑based work, travel, and some remote working. The initial onboarding period will involve more time in the office, with flexibility increasing as the role progresses. The role includes significant travel, primarily within Indonesia and occasionally across Southeast Asia.
About You
You will have experience in sales or business development within the education sector, with strong knowledge of the local education system and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. You will be highly organised, confident working independently and as part of a team, and able to manage competing priorities across an allocated territory.
You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, including native-level proficiency in the local language and a minimum B2 level in English. You will also be confident presenting to individuals and groups, negotiating with customers, and using consultative selling skills to understand needs and recommend suitable solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will also need good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems, ideally Salesforce, as well as a full, clean local driving licence. You should be an agile thinker who can adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems creatively.
If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
- A degree-level qualification.
- A sales, marketing or teaching qualification.
- Good knowledge of Cambridge products and the ability to champion product knowledge within the wider team.
- Experience supporting local events, campaigns, recognition activity or customer engagement initiatives.
