Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Designer to join the Brand team. This is a senior, hands-on creative role with day-to-day responsibility for high-impact brand design work across the group, alongside leading our creative production unit and ensuring brand consistency across all of OXO's properties and outputs.

The Brand team already has foundational brand work in progress (brand guidelines, sub-brand identities, design systems). The Lead Designer joins to bring this foundation to life through real design work: leading the design of key brand outputs (websites, brochures, major presentations, property collateral, internal and external materials), building the visual application layer and asset systems that other teams use, and ensuring everything produced through the team holds to a high creative standard.

This is a strong design role for someone who can take strategic direction and turn it into beautifully considered work, who has the seniority to lead a creative unit, and who is comfortable being hands-on across a wide range of brand outputs.

Reporting

The Lead Designer reports to the Head of Brand & Creative, works alongside another senior designer on foundational brand deliverables, and leads a small creative team of a Content Producer and Junior Art Worker.

Key responsibilities

Design and creative output

  • Lead the design of key brand outputs across the group, including websites, brochures, major presentations, property collateral, brand applications across hospitality and real estate, and internal brand materials for the group as a whole
  • Bring design craft and originality to applying the OXO brand and its sub-brands, taking established strategic direction and turning it into beautifully designed work
  • Design materials that need to reflect the brand across departments (executive decks, business proposals, legal documents, internal communications, HR materials)
  • Contribute to further building and strengthening the OXO design system, alongside developing the asset libraries, template systems, and design resources that other teams use to execute against the brand

Leading the creative production team

  • Manage the day-to-day work of the creative production team (Content Producer and Junior Art Worker), setting priorities, timelines, and creative direction
  • Review and oversee the team's work, ensuring it holds to brand standards and creative quality
  • Train and coach the team, developing their skills and creative capability over time
  • Act as the operational lead of the creative production capacity on the Brand team's behalf

Brand consistency across the group

  • Ensure consistent brand application across by OXO managed properties, including reviewing and directing the creative outputs produced for these properties
  • Oversee creative application for white label client properties, ensuring work aligns with each property's brand guidelines
  • Be the point of quality across the broader creative output of the group, with the Head of Brand & Creative engaged for strategic and high-impact decisions

Who we're looking for
  • 7+ years of design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong brand identity work, considered application design, and the ability to turn a brand framework into beautiful outputs
  • Design sensibility that leans editorial and restrained rather than decorative or maximalist, with an eye for considered typography, generous space, and quiet confidence. Aligned with the elevated, understated tone of the OXO brand world
  • Experience leading or directing other designers, ideally in an in-house brand team or design-led agency environment
  • Comfortable working downstream of established brand strategy and guidelines while bringing real design craft and originality to the application work
  • Hospitality, real estate, or lifestyle background preferred but not required
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign for print and Illustrator for identity work)
  • Fluent in Figma for website and digital design
  • Comfortable building and maintaining Canva systems that other teams execute against
  • Comfortable using AI tools as part of the design workflow
  • Strong portfolio expected, including brand identity work and evidence of leading creative output
  • Excellent English required
