L2 Network Data Center

Job Description:

Responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data center network infrastructure based on Cisco and Ruijie equipment, including handling Level 2 incidents (escalated from L1), network performance optimization, and ensuring end-to-end network availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment (switches, routers) from Cisco and Ruijie within the data center environment
• Handle Level 2 troubleshooting (escalated from NOC/L1) related to routing, switching, and connectivity issues
• Implement and manage dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) to ensure optimal and redundant communication paths
• Configure and monitor Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP/MSTP) to prevent loops at the L2 network level
• Document network topology, device configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Monitor network performance using NMS tools and follow up on alerts/incidents
• Coordinate with L1/NOC and L3/network architect teams regarding escalations and configuration changes
• Perform preventive maintenance and capacity planning for data center networks
• Prepare incident reports (Root Cause Analysis/RCA) for network disruptions

Qualifications:

• Cisco Certification (CCNA/CCNP) or Ruijie Certified Network Associate/Professional (RCNA/RCNP)
• Experience with additional protocols: HSRP/VRRP, QoS, MPLS
• Familiar with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, etc.)
• Experience working with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
