Job Description

Wolkk is a software house and digital product partner, working closely with clients to design, build, and deliver real software products. We don't just supply resources we own delivery, collaborate deeply with clients, and take responsibility for outcomes.

As a Junior Project Manager at Wolkk, you'll work with internal engineering, design, and operations teams to manage multiple client and internal projects, often running in parallel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, communication, and learning how real software projects are delivered end to end.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, thinking role, not a passive admin position.

You will own day-to-day project coordination and clarity across multiple software projects, typically 24 projects concurrently, with guidance and support from a Senior Project Manager or Delivery Lead.

You will not be responsible for final delivery or technical decisions. However, you are expected to actively think, question, and propose.

Specifically:

  • You are expected to surface risks, trade-offs, and ambiguities early
  • You are expected to ask clarifying questions when things are unclear
  • You are expected to propose structured next steps, not just report status

You are not expected to simply update Jira, send reminders, or wait for instructions.

This role may not be a good fit if you:

  • Prefer strictly defined tasks with minimal interaction
  • Are uncomfortable speaking up when things feel unclear
  • Expect problems to be fully defined before taking action

This role is suitable for early-career PMs or technically-minded individuals (including engineers or engineering managers) who want to transition into project management and delivery ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day coordination across 24 concurrent projects with varying scopes and timelines.
  • Help plan timelines, milestones, and deliverables together with senior PMs and engineering leads.
  • Track progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers, and surface them early with context and proposed options.
  • Ensure tasks are clearly defined, assigned, and followed up with explicit ownership.
  • Act as a communication bridge between internal teams (engineering, design, QA) and clients.
  • Facilitate project check-ins, standups, and status updates that lead to clear outcomes, including decisions, next steps, and named owners not just ongoing discussions.
  • Document decisions, action items, trade-offs, timelines, scope notes, and delivery updates clearly and consistently.
  • Maintain project documentation that enables faster decisions, clearer ownership, and easier handovers not just historical record-keeping.
  • Escalate risks, delays, or scope changes early and transparently.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery coordination depending on project setup.
  • Work effectively with incomplete information and evolving requirements by asking clarifying questions, proposing structure, and moving work forward without waiting for perfect clarity.
  • Identify small but meaningful improvements to delivery processes and team workflows.
  • Actively seek feedback from senior PMs, engineers, and teammates to improve delivery, communication, and coordination skills.

Success Indicators:

Success in this role is measured by behavior and impact, not just outcomes:

  • Risks and issues are raised early, with context and proposed options.
  • Status updates reduce follow-up questions from stakeholders.
  • Internal teams and clients have clear visibility into what's happening and what's next.
  • Project documentation is accurate, useful, and consistently maintained.
  • Teammates and stakeholders give positive feedback on clarity, coordination, and reliability.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • 02 years of experience in project coordination, project management, operations, or adjacent roles.

  • 612 months of technical exposure, which may include:
  • Frontend, backend, or full-stack development experience
  • Engineering or technical roles with coordination responsibilities
  • Serious technical side projects or internships
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects in parallel.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable using tools such as Jira, Confluence/Notion, Google Workspace, or similar.
  • Willingness to learn how real software systems are built, integrated, and delivered.

Nice to Have (Strong Plus):

  • Ability to write basic code or scripts (Python or other languages) to:
  • Build small local tools
  • Automate repetitive tasks
  • Call APIs or process data to improve productivity
  • (Advanced syntax is not required clarity and usefulness matter more.)
  • Experience or strong curiosity around:
  • REST APIs and system integrations
  • Platform-level automation (e.g. Jira automation, internal tools, GitHub workflows)
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum concepts.
  • Experience working in a software house, agency, startup, or product-focused environment.

Traits We're Looking For:

  • Proactive and responsible
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable speaking up when something is unclear
  • Curious, technical-minded, and eager to learn
  • Calm under pressure and able to juggle priorities
  • Good listener who asks thoughtful, clarifying questions
  • Comfortable working with different personalities and roles
