Cyber Security Specialist (5 Years Experience) – Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cyber security, information security, or a related IT security role.
• Strong understanding of security principles, frameworks, and best practices.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and log analysis.
• Knowledge of network security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
• Experience in incident detection, response, and remediation.
• Understanding of endpoint security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection technologies.
• Knowledge of operating systems security (Windows, Linux, and cloud environments).
• Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or similar.
• Basic understanding of cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze security events and alerts to identify potential threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
• Investigate security incidents and support incident response processes.
• Implement and maintain security controls to protect organizational assets.
• Perform security risk assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Support compliance initiatives and security audits.
• Create and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.
