IT Project Manager

We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in the General Insurance industry to lead strategic technology initiatives from planning through successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT project delivery using Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies.
• Develop project plans covering scope, timeline, budget, quality, and resource planning.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including business cases, project charters, project plans, test plans, and project closure reports.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive project governance through steering committees, change control, and project review forums.
• Monitor project progress, budget utilization, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests to ensure projects remain on track.
• Manage project financials, including forecasting, budget tracking, purchase orders, and variance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee vendor performance, contractual deliverables, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Manage stakeholder communication and provide regular project status updates to senior management.
• Lead project handover activities to support teams and ensure successful project closure.
• Track project benefits realization and post-implementation outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience managing IT projects.
• PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification is an advantage.
• Proven experience delivering projects within the General Insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of General Insurance core systems, front-end applications, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with Malaysia General Insurance products and business processes is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong project governance, financial management, vendor management, audit, and risk management experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
• Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
