IT Engineer, Baan / Business Systems

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

About the role

The IT Engineer, Baan / Business Systems is responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving Baan ERP and related business applications supporting manufacturing-site operations. The position provides functional and technical application support, analyzes business and system issues, supports system implementations and enhancements, and works closely with business users and regional/corporate application teams.

Key responsibilities

• Application Support
• Provide day-to-day support for Baan ERP and related business applications.
• Analyze and resolve application incidents reported by business and manufacturing users.
• Troubleshoot transaction, master-data, interface, reporting and application-processing issues.
• Monitor critical application processes and coordinate resolution of system failures.
• Escalate complex application problems to regional or global support teams when required.
• Business Process Support
• Work closely with Finance, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production and other functions to understand business requirements.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into appropriate system solutions or enhancement requests.
• Support ERP business processes related to manufacturing operations.
• Assist users in resolving system and process-related issues.
• Implementation & Project Support
• Participate in Baan/ERP-related site and corporate implementation projects.
• Support system configuration and approved application changes.
• Perform or coordinate unit testing, integration testing and User Acceptance Testing.
• Support application upgrades, migrations and implementation activities.
• Support interfaces between ERP, MES and other manufacturing/business systems.
• Participate in customer-driven and corporate IT implementation projects.
• Reporting & Digitalization
• Support business reporting and operational data requirements.
• Participate in dashboard, reporting, automation and digitalization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes using existing or new technologies.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
• Maintain application support documentation, procedures and solution records.
• Develop knowledge articles for recurring incidents.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to users and junior IT team members.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or a high-volume manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Technical Skills
• Experience with Baan/Infor ERP or similar ERP systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
• Understanding of inventory, warehousing, production, and order management
• Ability to troubleshoot system and interface issues
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
• Experience in system testing and UAT
• Skills in reporting and data analysis
• Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is an added advantage
• MES/ERP integration knowledge is an advantage
