Job Description

We are partnering with a prestigious financial institution to appoint an Investment Risk Associate into a high-performing investment risk function. The successful candidate will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Investment Directors, and senior stakeholders to assess portfolio exposures, monitor emerging risks, and contribute to investment governance across a complex and evolving market landscape

About the Investment Risk Associate opportunity:

  • Perform deep-dive risk analysis including stress testing, scenario analysis, liquidity assessments and factor-based risk reviews
  • Partner with investment teams to challenge portfolio construction, and risk positioning
  • Investigate and escalate breaches, exceptions and material risk events where appropriate
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of investment risk frameworks, methodologies and controls
  • Assist in the development of risk analytics, reporting automation and data-driven insights
  • Monitor macroeconomic developments, market trends and regulatory changes impacting portfolio risk

The role would suit an analytically strong professional with experience in investment risk, portfolio analytics, market risk, or asset management oversight, ideally gained within a leading bank, asset manager, or Big 4 advisory

Skill and experience needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3–7 years experience within investment risk, market risk, portfolio analytics, asset management or a related function
  • Strong understanding of investment products, portfolio construction and risk metrics including VaR, stress testing, sensitivities and liquidity measures
  • Exposure to institutional or asset management environments preferred
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to senior and non-technical stakeholders
  • CFA or FRM qualifications (completed or in progress) are advantageous
