Waruna Shipping Group, a leading company in the shipping industry committed to excellence in maritime operations, is currently looking for an experienced and highly driven professional to join our team as an Internal Audit Manager.
This role will play a strategic part in strengthening internal controls, risk management, governance processes, and operational compliance across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute audit activities in accordance with the approved annual audit plan
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, operational processes, and risk management systems
- Develop business risk mapping and provide recommendations for process improvement
- Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to identify risks and operational gaps
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate risk management implementation and reporting processes
- Collaborate with Risk Owners and management teams to assess and mitigate risks effectively
- Present audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to management and Board of Directors (BOD)
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented in alignment with company policies and governance standards
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance across all departments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Internal Audit, Compliance Audit, or Operational Audit
- Prior experience in managerial or team leadership role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work independently, under pressure, and with high mobility
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or related industries will be an advantage
