APCO is a global advisory and advocacy firm helping clients navigate an increasingly complex world. In Southeast Asia we work with organizations region-wide, providing government relations, strategic communications, media management, market access, digital and advisory services.

We are now seeking a qualified intern to join the Jakarta team.

APCO's Internship Program will provide students and recent graduates with valuable and substantive work experience, involving the interns in all aspects of a strategic communications consultancy. Interns become integral team members on a multitude of accounts, providing critical support while learning more about a variety of client industries, including healthcare and digital sectors. Though intern responsibilities vary between projects, they typically include research, writing, media monitoring, and various client support.

Primary Duties

  • Media Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive monitoring of relevant news from local and regional outlets. Identify and highlight mentions of clients, key issues, and trending stories to ensure clients remain informed and responsive to the latest developments.
  • Policy Monitoring: Systematically monitor political and policy developments in Thailand by sourcing information from government websites, news outlets, and other relevant platforms. Develop concise and insightful reports to update clients on government priorities and their potential impact on client operations.
  • Translation Services: Provide accurate and timely English-Indonesia and Indonesia-English translation support for client materials, including media interviews, press releases, and social media content.
  • Media Pitching: Develop story angles for clients and proactively pitch them to target media outlets. Secure media coverage and compile clipping reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
  • Research and Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly reports for various clients on specified issues and undertake ad-hoc research tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • All majors welcome. Recent graduate, or currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution. Communications, Social Sciences, English, and Economics majors will be highly considered.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia. This includes capabilities for translation, research, writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, incl. MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Strong professionalism and good work ethic is a must. Preferably with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a working environment is a plus point but is not required.
  • Must be an Indonesian citizen.
  • Expected Start: 9 September 2024 | 3-6 months duration

Benefits

  • Stipend: Per diem of IDR 275,000
  • Flexible working arrangement: Minimum 4 full days per week, though full-time availability preferred. APCO Indonesia has a hybrid and flexible working arrangement where the intern is expected to WFO only two full days per week as a part of our Strategic Collaboration Days.
  • Letter of recommendation: Provided upon successful completion of the internship.
  • Future opportunity: Successful interns may be considered for an extension, or a permanent position at APCO.
