Interior Furniture Estimator

Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for calculating and preparing accurate cost estimates for interior and furniture projects, from the proposal stage through production/installation, to ensure projects run within budget and meet the company's profit targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • • Read and analyze shop drawings, 3D designs, and project Bills of Quantity (BOQ) for interior/furniture work
  • • Perform quantity take-offs for materials such as wood, glass, metal, upholstery, hardware, etc.
  • • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for materials, labor, and production timelines
  • • Conduct site surveys when necessary to validate measurements and site conditions
  • • Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure estimate accuracy
  • • Compare vendor/supplier pricing to secure the best rates
  • • Prepare price quotations for clients
  • • Evaluate and revise estimates according to design or specification changes
  • • Maintain records of pricing history and estimation data for future project reference

Qualification

  • • Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree (S1) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related fiel
  • d• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in interior, custom furniture, or construction industrie
  • s• Proficient in AutoCAD (required); familiarity with SketchUp or other 3D design software is a plu
  • s• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas for volume and cost calculations
  • )• Good understanding of materials and furniture production processes (solid wood, plywood, HPL, veneer, upholstery, etc.
  • )• High attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers and technical specification
  • s• Able to read technical drawings and project specification
  • s• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
  • s• Able to work under pressure and meet deadline
  • s• Good command of English, both spoken and writte
