Position Overview
Insurance Senior Manager will oversee corporate insurance management and risk protection strategies across mining operations and assets. This role is responsible for managing insurance documentation, policy administration, asset coverage evaluation, and claims coordination while ensuring alignment with contractual and insurance clause requirements. Acting as an internal insurance specialist and strategic advisor, the role works closely with brokers, insurers, consultants, and operational stakeholders to ensure adequate coverage, risk mitigation, and compliance with corporate and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage corporate insurance activities, including policy administration, renewals, and claims coordination.
- Review and evaluate insurance clauses, coverage terms, exclusions, and contractual requirements to ensure adequate risk protection.
- Coordinate asset insurance processes, including asset listing, valuation support, and coverage analysis for operational and project assets.
- Prepare and manage insurance-related documentation, reports, and supporting data required by insurers, auditors, and management.
- Work closely with brokers, consultants, and insurance providers to negotiate policy terms and optimize coverage structures.
- Conduct insurance analysis and premium calculations to support cost-effective coverage and risk management strategies.
- Monitor policy compliance and ensure alignment with regulatory, contractual, and corporate governance requirements.
- Provide insurance advisory support to internal stakeholders regarding risk exposure, coverage interpretation, and claim matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or insurance consulting, preferably within mining, oil & gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, policy structures, clauses, and claims management processes.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting insurance contract clauses and coverage calculations.
- Familiarity with asset insurance and operational risk exposure within capital-intensive industries.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to coordinate with brokers, insurers, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities with a consultative mindset.
