Job Description

Role Overview

Electrum is seeking an Insurance Associate to manage and execute insurance claims related to operational losses, primarily involving bike spare parts and vendor-related incidents. This role ensures timely, accurate, and complete claim processing to minimize financial impact and maintain accountability across vendors.

You will work closely with operations, supply chain, finance, and external vendors/insurers to drive efficient claims handling and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management

  • Handle end-to-end insurance claims for damaged, lost, or defective bike spare parts
  • Prepare and submit complete claim documentation to vendors and/or insurers
  • Track claim status and ensure timely resolution and reimbursement

Documentation & Validation

  • Verify incident reports, supporting documents, and claim eligibility
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all claim submissions
  • Maintain proper records and audit trails for all claims

Vendor Coordination

  • Liaise with vendors and insurance partners on claim processing and follow-ups
  • Clarify claim requirements and resolve discrepancies
  • Escalate delays or disputes when necessary

Internal Coordination

  • Work with operations and warehouse teams to validate incidents and losses
  • Align with finance on reimbursement tracking and reconciliation
  • Support supply chain in identifying recurring vendor or product issues

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain a claims tracker with status, value, and turnaround time
  • Analyze trends (e.g., frequent part failures, vendor issues)
  • Provide regular reports and insights to improve cost recovery and prevention

Process Improvement

  • Standardize claim procedures and documentation requirements
  • Identify gaps in current processes and recommend improvements
  • Support implementation of controls to reduce claim frequency
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field (Engineering, Business, or related)
  • 2–5 years of experience in claims, operations, supply chain, or insurance-related roles
  • Experience handling vendor claims or asset-related claims is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and follow through to completion
  • Basic data handling (Excel/Google Sheets) for tracking and reporting
