Job Summary:

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing productivity, optimizing resource utilization, establishing labor standards, supporting capacity and layout planning, and driving sustainable cost reduction. The role partners with cross-functional teams to support existing operations and successful New Product Introduction (NPI) across manufacturing activities

Responsibilities:

  • Capacity & Resources: Perform manpower, machine and line capacity analysis; identify bottlenecks; support headcount and resource planning.
  • Work Measurement: Conduct approved time studies; establish and maintain standard labor times, routing data and labor-content validation.
  • Productivity & Flow: Complete line balancing, takt-time and workflow analysis; eliminate non-value-added work and improve throughput
  • Layout & Space: Develop and optimize production, warehouse and support-area layouts for efficient people, material and equipment flow
  • NPI & Quotation: Provide labor, capacity and space estimates; validate cycle time and resource readiness during prototype, pilot and ramp-up builds
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Kaizen and cost-reduction projects; evaluate process optimization and automation opportunities.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor labor efficiency, productivity, capacity utilization and throughput; provide data-driven recommendations to management.
  • Collaboration & Compliance: Work with Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain and Finance; follow applicable quality, safety and site procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Operations Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years in manufacturing preferred; EMS, PCBA, electronics or high-mix operations experience is an advantage.
  • Work measurement, capacity planning, labor modeling, line balancing, Lean/Six Sigma, layout design, Excel/data analysis, ERP routing and cost analysis
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, customer focus, project execution and results orientation
