Role Description The Import Staff will be responsible for handling and following up on import shipments and all related documentation, coordinating the end-to-end import process from overseas suppliers to Indonesia, and ensuring smooth customs clearance. The role involves coordinating closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, shipping lines, and relevant internal departments. The Import Staff will also handle import quota applications and monitor their status, prepare and submit required import declarations and documentation through relevant trade and customs online platforms, and check and verify HS Codes for imported goods. In addition, the role requires identifying applicable import restrictions, permits, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with current regulations. The Import Staff will be responsible for following up on documentation discrepancies, customs issues, shipment delays, and other import-related matters, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of import documents, declarations, quota applications, permits, and shipment status.
Qualifications
1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in import, export-import, logistics, or a related position.
3. Good understanding of import procedures, customs regulations, and import documentation in Indonesia.
4. Familiar with customs clearance processes and coordination with freight forwarders/customs brokers.
5. Good communication and negotiation skills.
6. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
8. Good command of English, both written and spoken.
9. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
