The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the field crews by ensuring smooth operations across attendance tracking, payroll support, social event planning, and maintaining a positive work environment. This position will work closely with the Site Managers at each location to promote team cohesion, resolve conflicts, and prevent potential issues, ensuring a supportive and harmonious work culture on both the Bintan and Batam projects.
Responsibilities
As an HR Generalistthe main responsibilities will be to:
1. Attendance & Payroll Support
Responsible for recording and monitoring the attendance of Batam crew accurately and ensuring all data is updated in a timely manner. Collaborates with the HR team in Bali to provide accurate timesheets as the basis for payroll, verifies leave, permissions, and absences to ensure compliance with company policies, and supports the monthly payroll process by providing attendance and allowance data for crew in Bintan and Batam.
2. Employee Relations & Conflict Management
Handles team dynamics to ensure healthy and collaborative working relationships in Bintan and Batam. Identifies potential conflicts and proactively resolves issues that arise among team members, while implementing conflict-prevention strategies to maintain crew well-being and productivity. Additionally, provides basic consultation on employee issues and serves as a liaison between the crew and management.
3. HR Support & Company Policies
Provides general HR support to field teams by offering guidance on workplace policies and company SOPs. Communicates company regulations, work procedures, and code of conduct, ensuring all crew members adhere to these standards. Also manages HR administration, including employment contracts, contract extensions, and employee data changes.
4. Performance Management
Conducts performance evaluations for crew in Bintan and Batam and documents the results systematically. Coordinates with Line Managers to follow up on evaluation outcomes through coaching, promotions, warnings, or necessary training. Additionally, helps identify development and training needs to improve crew performance.
5. Recruitment Support
Supports the recruitment process for local crew by posting job vacancies, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and assisting with onboarding. Responsible for preparing onboarding documents and ensuring new employees understand their job responsibilities, SOPs, and the company culture from their first day of work.
6. HR Administration & Reporting
Maintains a well-organized and structured employee database for Bintan and Batam, prepares monthly HR reports covering attendance, turnover, and operational challenges for submission to management and the HR team in Bali, and ensures all HR documents are securely stored and easily accessible to support operational needs.
