Job Description

About The Role

Our confidential fintech client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded HR Manager (Mandarin Speaker) to lead core human-resources operations while partnering closely with local management and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

This role requires a hands-on HR leader who can build trusted people practices, manage employee matters with sound judgment, and support the people, governance, and compliance needs of a regulated financial-technology business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day HR operations and ensure reliable, compliant, and employee-focused people practices.
  • Partner with management on workforce planning, organisation design, hiring priorities, employee matters, and business-growth needs.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including workforce requisitions, sourcing strategy, selection coordination, offer management, onboarding, and probation monitoring.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including employment documentation, employee records, attendance, leave, contracts, performance processes, and offboarding.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, SOPs, employee guidelines, and internal communications.
  • Manage employee-relations matters professionally, including performance concerns, disciplinary processes, workplace issues, grievances, and conflict resolution where required.
  • Ensure HR documentation, employee practices, and internal processes align with applicable Indonesian employment regulations and company policy.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs, BPJS administration, benefits administration, attendance, leave, and employee-data accuracy with relevant internal or external partners.
  • Support performance management, employee engagement, capability development, retention, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce data, and people insights for management decision-making.
  • Support HR-related governance, audit readiness, compliance documentation, and information requests relevant to a regulated fintech environment.
  • Coordinate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely follow-up on HR matters.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or comparable people-leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indonesian employment regulations, HR administration, employee relations, and employment documentation.
  • Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, employee data, and HR operations.
  • Experience coordinating payroll inputs, BPJS, benefits administration, attendance, leave, and employee records.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving capability.
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential employee information and sensitive workplace matters.
  • Professional Mandarin Chinese communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective coordination with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Preferred / Ideal Profile


  • Prior experience in fintech, financial services, digital lending, payments, banking, insurance, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting OJK-related governance, compliance, audit, regulatory-documentation, or regulatory-information requirements.
  • Direct experience supporting OJK-facing reviews, compliance requests, audits, governance processes, or regulator-related documentation is highly valued.
  • Understanding of governance, confidentiality, risk awareness, and documentation discipline in a regulated financial-services environment.
  • Experience supporting Mandarin-speaking management, shareholders, regional stakeholders, or cross-border teams.
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, attendance, employee-data, or workforce-reporting systems.
