A Homeroom Teacher teaches multiple subjects such as mathematics, language, social studies, science, reading and others. A good teacher has a positive impact on his or her students and plays an important role, which affects the student's self-esteem and development.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and review subjects scope and sequence as well as Cikal Curriculum Cycle.
- Implementing teaching process to ensure student's learning with various methods, assessment,
resource learning to accommodate student's need and uniqueness.
- Maintain good communication with year Co level and other's teacher to ensure quality of student's
learning and curriculum.
- Maintain good coordination with club manager to prepare and monitoring student skill for performing
art events as well as to develop student's skill.
Common work activities include:
- Reading, understanding and reviewing the program/curriculum and required learning outcomes for the
students.
- Working with other teachers to ensure that all students at this level are taught the same material based
on the scope and sequence.
- Developing and working on the planner (yearly, weekly, and daily) for teaching the material.
- Teaching, assessing, evaluating students based on observation, class work, homework assignments,
assessment, and their attitudes.
- Supporting, motivating and encouraging students in all aspects of school activities, on a daily basis.
- Assisting students in academic as well as social and behavioral growth by giving them numerous and
varied learning opportunities.
- Meeting with parents, staffs and other professionals that work with the students to make sure the
students develop at their best.
- Researching various teaching methods, information about students with special needs, and keeping
abreast of teaching methodologies.
- Providing modified or adapted learning situations for special need students.
- Keeping anecdotal and other records using record keeping systems as required by the school.
- Attending trainings and other professional development activities to constantly improve teaching skills
and strategies.
- Participating on various committees and groups within the school and community as required, to support the school's program/curriculum.
