Job Description
Reporting directly to senior management, the Head of Project will be responsible for:
- Leading the overall execution of the alumina smelter project from engineering through commissioning and handover.
- Managing project schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation plans to achieve project objectives.
- Coordinating EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
- Driving project governance, reporting, and performance monitoring across all project phases.
- Ensuring compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.
- Leading contract administration, procurement strategies, and commercial negotiations.
- Managing stakeholder engagement with shareholders, government authorities, and local communities.
- Building and leading a high-performing project team to deliver operational excellence.
- Identifying project risks and implementing corrective actions to minimise cost and schedule impacts.
- Supporting commissioning, start-up activities, and operational readiness initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Head Of Project Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project management within mining, metals, smelter, refining, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven track record leading large-scale greenfield industrial projects with multi-million-dollar CAPEX values.
- Strong understanding of EPC project execution, construction management, and commissioning processes.
- Experience in alumina, aluminium, smelter, refinery, or mineral processing projects is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contracts, procurement, and project finances.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willingness to be based at project sites as required.
