Alfred H Knight has a high-profile opening for a Head of Operations to drive our multidisciplinary growth across Indonesia and the Philippines. Reporting directly to the President Director and Group CO), this is a rare opportunity for a strategic leader to move away from the red tape of a massive matrix and into a position with genuine global influence.

This isn't a desk job—it's a hands-on leadership role where you will have your finger on the pulse of our extensive network of sites, spanning across Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and beyond. You will be the champion for your Site Managers, driving operational excellence and maximizing huge commercial opportunities across our Metals, Minerals, Agriculture and Energy Services business streams.

To be successful, you will be a visible leader who enjoys being close to the ground. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Service Delivery & Efficiency: Taking ultimate responsibility for the timely delivery of services, optimising workflows to ensure we meet strict client deadlines and industry-leading turnaround times without compromising on quality
• Hands-on Site Leadership: Acting as the champion for our Site Managers across Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and beyond, ensuring they have the resources and technical support to excel.
• Multidisciplinary Oversight: Driving operational standards across a diverse portfolio, including Metals & Minerals, Agriculture and Energy Services.
• Continuous Improvement: You won't just follow SOPs; you will identify operational gaps, drive technical improvements, and lead the implementation of new laboratory technologies.
• Strategic Growth: Working closely with the COO to maximize huge commercial opportunities in the region and ensuring our service quality remains best-in-class.
• Technical Authority: Taking the lead on investigating complex technical discrepancies and safeguarding our reputation for professional analysis.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• TIC Industry Leadership: Extensive experience as a Head of Operations or Senior Operations Manager within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry.
• Operational Excellence: Proven ability to introduce operational improvements and facilitate clear, high-level communication between regional sites and the Group COO.
• Technical Authority: A deep commitment to ISO 17020:2012 standards and the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical discrepancies or weight/quality concerns.
• Strategic Growth: A track record of identifying operational gaps and implementing solutions that enhance service quality and regional profitability.

Required Competencies

• C-Suite Influence: Comfortable reporting directly to the COO and translating global group strategy into local operational success.
• Dynamic People Leadership: A natural mentor capable of leading and developing multidisciplinary teams across remote and diverse geographies.
• Resilience & Urgency: A strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and strict global deadlines effectively.

Required Work Experience

• Experience working within an international matrix organisation, working across multiple countries, time zones and functions.
• Proven background in resolving complex technical concerns identified by client services and identifying commercial opportunities.
• Evidence-based decision-making through technical data and trend analysis.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a Science-related subject is highly preferred.

Required Languages

• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is essential.
