Role Summary:
The Head of Maintenance leads and oversees all maintenance operations across properties to ensure optimal safety, efficiency, and reliability of equipment and infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing the maintenance team, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with other departments to support business objectives. By minimizing downtime and extending asset life, the Head of Maintenance plays a key role in enhancing operational performance across all facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff, ensuring clear communication of duties, priorities, and safety protocols.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs; respond promptly to equipment and facility breakdowns with effective corrective actions.
Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Ensure proper functioning and upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems, as well as overall building integrity.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards; conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, control expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Select, negotiate, and oversee external contractors, ensuring services meet required standards and contractual terms.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventories of tools, equipment, and spare parts; oversee maintenance records and asset lifecycle documentation.
Emergency Response
- Lead maintenance response efforts during emergencies, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to long-term planning for facility improvements and capital projects; recommend innovations to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Safety, Housekeeping, and other teams to align maintenance support with overall organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to lead diverse maintenance teams
- In-depth knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices across building systems
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry compliance standards
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and digital tracking tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement efficiency strategies
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments
- Ability to remain calm and responsive during maintenance-related emergencie.

- Willingness to be on-call and available for urgent maintenance issues, including outside regular working hours
