Head of Legal (Real Estate Development, Investment and Management)

A premium real estate development and investment group in Bali is seeking an experienced Indonesian Head of Legal to lead all legal matters across residential and commercial projects. The role requires strong expertise in Indonesian real estate law, development contracts, M&A, dispute resolution, investment structuring, and government relations. This person will bring structure, clarity, and legal compliance to a fast-moving environment and oversee all legal aspects of property development, sales, and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

- Draft and review development agreements, sales contracts, and all documentation related to real estate transactions.

- Ensure all buyer-facing contracts are compliant, transparent, and aligned with Indonesian regulations.

- Coordinate with tax and finance teams to create fully compliant transaction structures.

- Oversee all contracts tied to development, construction, sales, leasing, and partnerships.

- Manage legal communication and processes with government authorities, including permits, land status, licensing, and regulatory filings.

- Support risk identification, dispute resolution, investor concerns, and sensitive negotiations.

- Assist with acquisitions, joint ventures, and asset transfers when required.

- Create and maintain structured legal workflows, templates, version control, and documentation systems.

- Ensure all departments operate from a unified legal framework with clear processes and approvals.

- Coordinate with developers, architects, contractors, notaries, and government institutions.

- Provide clear legal guidance to leadership and translate complex legal matters into actionable steps.

Qualifications

- 1015 years of experience in Indonesian real estate law, corporate law, M&A, and government coordination.

- Strong background in premium real estate development and property transactions.

- Proven experience in drafting development agreements, land documentation, and buyer contracts.

- Experience in dispute resolution, investor negotiations, and regulatory processes.

- Ability to create structure and systems in a dynamic, evolving environment.

- Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and advanced professional English
