Job Description
Work Location: Medan, Indonesia
In the role of Head of Finance, you will provide leadership across finance, accounting, procurement and insurance for BNCT, while acting as a key liaison with tax authorities, financial institutions and other critical stakeholders.
You will oversee end-to-end finance and accounting operations, supply chain management activities and insurance management, while driving financial performance through robust reporting, analysis and business partnering. You will ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and group requirements and identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation and revenue growth.
As a strategic partner to the President Director and senior leadership, you will support the financial stability, operational efficiency and sustainable growth of BNCT.
Key Accountabilities:
Finance / Accounting
- Work with Regional and Global Finance teams to prepare accurate, timely and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, internal controls and processes in accordance with accounting standards, legal requirements and company policies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, management reporting and tax reporting and compliance.
- Lead and manage month-end and year-end close, including preparation and review of journal entries, working papers, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Develop business models and provide financial analysis and decision support for strategic and commercial initiatives.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory, Regional and Head Office reporting requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of fit-for-purpose financial management, reporting and operational systems, including accurate interfaces and financial controls.
- Provide leadership to the finance team, including coaching, capability development, succession planning and cross-training.
- Promote continuous improvement, operational discipline and a collaborative, performance-focused culture.
Supply Chain Management
- Oversee supply chain management activities and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, approval authorities and governance requirements.
- Manage procurement and supplier management, including sourcing, supplier selection, contract administration, performance monitoring and compliance with approval authorities.
- Manage office and transportation services for the administrative workplace is safe, functional and fit for business needs. Operations buildings and the workshop remain under the Facility department.
- Direct logistics activities, including the timely and cost-effective movement, receipt and dispatch of goods, and coordination with relevant internal teams and external providers.
- Manage warehouse operations and inventory, including storage, stock accuracy, stock levels, cycle counts, reconciliation of variances, and control of obsolete or damaged stock.
- Establish and monitor performance measures for procurement, office building facilities, logistics, warehousing and inventory, addressing service issues, cost variances and operational risks.
- Ensure effective controls and segregation of duties across purchasing, goods receipt, stock custody, inventory records and payment approval.
- Lead team capability, workforce planning and continuous improvement across these functions, while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable Health, Safety and Sustainability requirements.
Insurance Management
- Manage the Company's insurance programme, including policy renewals, claims administration and liaison with insurers and brokers, ensuring adequate coverage for assets, liabilities and operational risks.
Compliance, Governance and Risk
- Manage annual statutory, internal and external audit processes with auditors, Regional Finance and Head Office, and ensure timely closure of findings and agreed actions.
- Oversee compliance with applicable legal, tax and regulatory requirements, including indirect and corporate taxation relevant to BNCT.
- Oversee legal and contractual matters, including review and administration of commercial contracts and agreements, in coordination with internal and external advisers.
- Coordinate Board papers, minutes and follow-up actions, and support sound corporate governance and delegated authority compliance.
Commercial and Operational Support
- Oversee billing and receivables processes to support complete, accurate and timely invoicing, revenue recognition and collection.
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve profitability, working capital, cost control and return on investment.
- Support the setup, integration or expansion of business operations and systems, including testing, data integrity and finance-system interfaces.
- Remain agile and perform other reasonable duties directed by management to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a recognized professional accounting qualification. Master's degree will be advantage.
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience, including at least 5 years leading a finance function or department at multi-national companies.
- Proven knowledge of financial reporting standards and applicable local regulatory requirements.
- Experience in accounts finalisation, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance, audit and finance team supervision.
- Commercial and business partnering capability, with experience developing financial models and translating analysis into practical decisions.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to coach, motivate and develop a small team.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
- Sound judgement, analytical thinking and project-management capability, with the ability to prioritise and meet timelines.
- Driven, hands-on and detail-oriented, with a strong continuous-improvement mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Oracle Fusion would be an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
