We're Hiring: Head for Drilling Operation

We are looking for an experienced Head for Drilling Operation to strengthen our drilling engineering and field supervision capabilities in support of ongoing and future geothermal drilling campaigns.

This role will play a critical part in supporting drilling activities across our base business operations in Salak, Darajat, and Wayang Windu, as well as future growth and exploration projects such as Sekincau and Hamiding.

With increasing drilling and exploration activities, including the addition of two rigs operating within the base business, the organization is preparing to support more complex and simultaneous multi-rig operations across various geological settings. This position will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of drilling and workover programs.

Role Summary

The Head for D&C – Drilling Operation will lead the planning and execution of drilling and workover programs across multiple operating assets and growth projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, operational leadership, contractor management capability, and sound decision-making under high-risk and high-cost drilling conditions.

The successful candidate will be expected to drive performance improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead both engineering and field supervision teams to deliver drilling operations safely, efficiently, and within the approved program and budget framework.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Plan and execute all aspects of drilling and workover programs across three operating assets and future growth projects.
• Set operational plans within approved drilling programs and budget frameworks.
• Manage rig services agreements, tender evaluations, contractor scopes, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead structured negotiations and coordination with relevant authorities, including EBTKE and DEPNAKER, as well as international drilling companies.
• Drive drilling performance improvements, including ROP improvement, NPT reduction, and cost-per-meter optimization.
• Adapt drilling techniques across different geological formations, including Salak, Wayang Windu, Darajat, and greenfield project areas.
• Manage simultaneous multi-rig operations across different geological settings.
• Provide technical direction and problem-solving support for complex drilling challenges, including stuck pipe, loss circulation, and collision risks.
• Lead Drilling Site Managers and direct field operations through the operational chain of command.
• Oversee and coordinate large-scale field activities involving approximately 200 workers.
• Make critical operational decisions under high-risk, high-cost, and time-sensitive drilling conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related fields from a reputable university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in drilling operations.
• Prior hands-on experience as a Drilling Site Supervisor / Company Man and Drilling Engineer.
• Strong experience in geothermal drilling operations.
• Demonstrated experience in the execution and planning phase of geothermal well drilling.
• Minimum experience in 20 geothermal wells is required.
• Proven ability to lead complex drilling operations across multiple assets and geological environments.
• Strong leadership, contractor management, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
