Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university; Master of Laws (LL.M) or professional certifications are an advantage.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate legal roles, with a strong background in the technology sector.
- Proven track record in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), including deal structuring, due diligence, contract drafting, negotiation, and closing.
- Strong understanding of legal operations, corporate governance, contract management, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with technology-related regulations, licensing requirements, project development frameworks, and industry-specific legal challenges.
- Excellent skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with C-level executives, project teams, external counsel, and government bodies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- High level of integrity, professional ethics, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Job Descriptions:
- Lead the corporate legal function for the energy business, ensuring all legal activities support business growth while maintaining compliance and risk mitigation.
- Manage and oversee all M&A activities, including deal assessment, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, and closing processes.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on corporate actions, investments, partnerships, project development, and long-term business planning.
- Oversee legal operations, including governance frameworks, policy development, contract lifecycle management, and legal documentation processes.
- Review, draft, and negotiate key commercial agreements related to the technology industry.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly related to energy licensing, environmental requirements, corporate reporting, and operational permits.
- Liaise with government agencies, external lawyers, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to anticipate and manage legal risks.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting the energy sector and provide early guidance on business implications.
- Lead internal investigations, dispute resolution processes, and manage litigation or arbitration when required.
- Develop and mentor the legal team to strengthen internal capability and ensure robust legal support across project locations.
