Adecco Indonesia is representing our client, a rapidly growing multinational consumer retail company. With aggressive growth plans in Indonesia, they are seeking a strong accounting leader to support business expansion and operational excellence. This role will be based in West Java, Indonesia.
The Head of Accounting will lead end-to-end accounting operations across multiple business entities and regional operations. This role requires a highly hands-on accounting professional who is capable of driving accounting governance, standardization, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, persuasive, detail-oriented, and able to influence various stakeholders across decentralized business units while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, month-end closing, and statutory reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Handle accounting operations across multiple entities/business units and ensure alignment of accounting practices across regional offices.
- Drive implementation and improvement of accounting SOPs, internal controls, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, regional offices, and management to ensure smooth accounting operations.
- Review operational accounting activities and support resolution of complex accounting issues.
- Monitor large-volume transactions and ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Support audit activities and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to regional finance/accounting teams.
- Assist management in financial analysis, reporting enhancement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Lead and mentor accounting team members while remaining actively involved in operational execution.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a reputable university; overseas graduates or candidates with outstanding academic achievements are preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Prior experience from Big 4 audit firms is highly preferred.
- Experience handling multinational retail, FMCG, consumer goods, distribution, or manufacturing companies.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment and managing day-to-day accounting activities.
- Proven experience handling multiple entities/business units and working with diverse stakeholders, including expatriates.
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments is essential.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
