Job Description:
Accounting:
Lead and oversee the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage and execute day‑to‑day accounting operations, including month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
Review, approve, and ensure the accuracy of journal entries, supporting calculations, schedules, and account reconciliations.
Ensure proper accounting and reporting for key transactions, including but not limited to investment income and valuation, premium income and receivables, claims expenses and payables, reinsurance transactions, fixed and intangible assets, capitalization, and depreciation, prepayments, accruals, provisions and others.
Perform and oversee regular balance sheet account reviews and bank reconciliations, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution of reconciling items.
Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve recurring and ad‑hoc accounting, and operational issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Coordinate closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g. Actuarial, Finance Operations, Treasury, Tax, IT, Operations) to ensure accurate and timely data submission during period‑end closing.
Prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial analysis, management reports, and presentations to support management, committees, and regulators.
Ensure timely submission of all statutory, regulatory, and management reports, with full compliance to applicable accounting standards and regulations.
Develop, coach, and mentor team members through clear performance expectations, regular feedback, and structured capability development.
Plan and allocate workload effectively to ensure service deliverables, quality, and timely submissions.
Accounting Policy
Develop and issue new accounting treatment guidelines for new products/campaign/initiative and ensure proper implementation upon the product/campaign/initiative launch.
Ensure company-wide accounting policy is in accordance with Group Accounting Policy, IFRS, local accounting standard and regulatory requirement.
Assess the impact and ensure proper implementation of new or revised accounting standard.
Review accounting treatment change or modification as part of the company's initiatives, for example: in the expense management initiatives.
Act as the technical accounting reference point for management, auditors, and regulators.
Finance Control Governance
SOX and Risk Champion for Finance - to be the subject matter expert, review/advise the proper SOX related documentation, risk and control assessment, incident/issues escalation and resolution, including advise improvement or additional processes to strengthen the existing controls to prevent recurring incident/issues.
Risk and control owner will remain in each of the Finance functions performing or involved in the process, but the SOX and Risk Champion will lead, drive, and give advice on the correct implementation.
Manage and coordinate company-wide SOX Audit related matters.
Review policies and procedures within Finance, to ensure the risk, control and segregation of duties are implemented in various processes.
Manage and coordinate company-wide end-to-end statutory audit process, including to ensure that the audit engagement has fulfilled all the governance requirements (i.e. BOD/BOC/Audit Committee/OJK requirements) up to the preparation and issuance of statutory financial statements.
Drive closure and sustainable remediation of audit findings and control deficiencies.
Projects
Act as Project Manager within Finance for company-wide initiatives that involve or relates with more than one function in Finance - to ensure that assessment/involvement from all impacted Finance functions is properly addressed throughout the project phase.
In doing this role, each of the Finance functions will continue to be involved and contribute to doing the tasks related to each of their area of expertise.
Actively leading and drive transformation projects related to Finance, for example: Future Finance Program (FFP) conversion from Sun GL to Oracle system, Strategic Coupa, addressing recommendation points from KPMG internal control over financial statement closing process, other process automation, etc.
Job Requirement:
Education:Minimum Bachelor Degree majoring Finance/Accounting from Reputable University
Experience:Minimum 10 years experience in Financial Industry especially Insurance and handling Accounting, Finance & Project Management
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent leadership, managerial skills, and communication skills, including effective problem solving and decision-making abilities, are vital.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices within the financial industry is required.
