Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and disciplined Head Chef to lead the culinary heart of The Coach Restaurant. This role requires a master of craft who can translate COACH's brand DNA—Authenticity, Inclusion, and Self-Expression—into a world-class dining experience. You will be responsible for executing a New York State of Taste, overseeing a high-precision kitchen that balances the technical rigor of a premier American steakhouse with the creative energy of a global luxury brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary Excellence & Craftsmanship

  • Lead the daily execution of a premium, flavor-driven menu, ensuring every dish reflects the quality and heritage associated with the COACH name.
  • Maintain absolute precision in the preparation of our USDA Prime cuts, ensuring dry-aging processes and specialized butchery meet the highest standards.
  • Infuse the New York Spirit into the menu through elevated classics, from the A Very Honest Cheeseburger to artisanal seafood and iconic American desserts.
  • Oversee the development and consistency of signature activations, such as the Prime Rib Sundays program.

Kitchen Leadership & Mentorship

  • Direct and inspire a high-performing back-of-house team, fostering a culture of Self-Expression and professional growth.
  • Implement rigorous training programs focused on technical skills, ingredient knowledge, and plate presentation.
  • Manage kitchen scheduling and labor productivity to ensure seamless service during high-volume fun-dining shifts.

Operational & Financial Discipline

  • Take full accountability for food cost management, maintaining our 35% COGS target through meticulous waste control and strategic sourcing.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring the highest quality of ingredients is maintained while optimizing stock levels.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with international health, safety, and hygiene standards (HACCP), maintaining a stage-ready kitchen at all times.

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef & General Manager to develop seasonal menu pivots and exclusive offerings for fashion-aligned collaborations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide culinary insights for content creation, ensuring the food photography and storytelling are brand-aligned.
  • Bridge the gap between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring the FOH team is fully briefed on the craftsmanship behind every dish.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years in high-end culinary leadership, specifically within premier steakhouses, luxury hotels, or globally recognized lifestyle concepts.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of meat science, dry-aging, and classic American steakhouse techniques.
  • Leadership: A calm, decisive leader who thrives in high-pressure, high-volume environments and leads by example.
  • Brand Alignment: A deep appreciation for luxury aesthetics and the ability to translate brand values into sensory experiences.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to manage a diverse kitchen team and interface with corporate stakeholders.
