Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Government Relations Manager to join their team. As the Government Relations Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading government engagement, monitoring policy and regulatory updates, identifying upcoming tenders, supporting permit acquisition, and building strategic stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead government engagement by building and maintaining relationships with government agencies, regulators, industry associations, and community stakeholders, while representing the company at relevant forums, conferences, and events.
- Monitor, research, analyze, and interpret policy and regulatory developments, providing timely updates and strategic recommendations to senior management on their business impact.
- Identify, track, and assess upcoming government projects and tenders, supporting bid participation and developing advocacy strategies to advance the company's business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to secure permits and licenses required for project execution while ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Develop and execute government relations strategies to foster a favorable policy and regulatory environment that supports the company's long-term business growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs, or External Relations.
- Experience within renewable energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, energy, mining, or other highly regulated industries, with hands-on exposure to government tenders, permitting, and project development.
- Strong ability to interpret regulatory developments and assess their business implications, translating policy changes into practical commercial strategies and growth opportunities.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and proactive.
- Willing to travel as needed
