As a Legal Team, you will be responsible for leading government relations and compliance initiatives by managing regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation to support business continuity, manufacturing operations, and regulatory compliance.
What will you do
- Lead and execute government relations strategies to support business and manufacturing operations, while maintaining strong relationships with relevant government agencies, regulators, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and government institutions, ensuring effective communication and alignment on regulatory, licensing, and operational matters.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret regulatory developments, providing timely updates and recommendations to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
- Provide strategic advisory support on compliance, regulatory affairs, and government relations initiatives to ensure business activities remain aligned with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal policies, workflows, and control processes to strengthen governance and compliance standards.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal controls.
- Handle and coordinate dispute resolution matters related to manufacturing operations, including engagement with government agencies, external stakeholders, and relevant authorities.
- Support manufacturing and operational teams on legal and regulatory matters, including licensing, permits, contract review, operational compliance, and stakeholder management.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with communities, local governments, industry associations, and other external stakeholders surrounding manufacturing facilities.
- Identify regulatory risks and barriers, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively drive solutions to support business continuity and growth.
- Prepare reports, presentations, regulatory submissions, and other documentation required for government engagement and compliance activities.
- Perform additional projects and assignments related to compliance, legal affairs, and government relations as required.
What are we looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal, or related functions, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated industries.
- Previous experience in a reputable law firm, multinational company, or in-house legal/compliance function will be an advantage.
- Proven experience engaging with government institutions at both strategic and operational levels, including regulators, ministries, local government authorities, and other public sector stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, licensing processes, and government affairs practices.
- Experience handling manufacturing-related matters, including operational licensing, land and property matters, community relations, dispute resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate regulatory challenges, assess risks, and develop practical business-oriented solutions.
- Strong contract review, legal drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willing to be based at or travel regularly to manufacturing sites as required by business operations.
