About the Role

The Global Operations Capability Program develops future capability specialists who can be deployed across Filtrona's manufacturing network to support operational stabilization, capability transfer, startup activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic transformation projects. Participants will be based in designated development hubs and are expected to undertake short-term and long-term assignments globally to support business needs.

Purpose of the Job

To optimise manufacturing efficiency through industrial engineering principles by improving material flow, plant layout, warehouse-to-line movement, routing accuracy, BOM governance, labour productivity and overall operational efficiency across Filtrona's manufacturing network.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse material flow throughout manufacturing
  • Conduct motion and time studies
  • Improve plant layout and travel distances
  • Optimise warehouse-to-production flow
  • Validate BOM and routing accuracy
  • Analyse material consumption and losses
  • Improve production planning interfaces
  • Support digital manufacturing initiatives
  • Lead productivity improvement projects
  • Support global deployment assignments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Tobacco industry background preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Material Flow Analysis
  • Facility Layout
  • ERP / SAP routing & BOM
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and operational workflows, maintenance systems and reliability concepts, root cause analysis, TPM, automation and controls, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, data analysis tools and SAP.

Success Measures:

  • Improve material flow efficiency and reduce non-value-added movement.
  • Improve BOM and routing accuracy.
  • Deliver measurable productivity improvements through industrial engineering projects.
  • Complete value stream mapping and layout optimisation initiatives.
  • Deliver measurable reductions in travel distance, handling time or material losses.
