Title: Global Digital Marketing & Southeast Asia Marcoms Lead

Reports to: Regional Head of Southeast Asia; Dotted-line reporting to the Global Head of External Affairs

Classification: Full-time

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia or Singapore

Position Summary

This is a dual role within the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team that encompasses global digital marketing for the organization with the development and delivery of the Southeast Asia (SEA) regional marcomms strategy with the aim of driving philanthropic support for the organization's strategy and mission delivery.

Blending savvy digital leadership with tech-led execution, this role oversees and manages the organizations digital marketing infrastructure including social media channels while positioning Women's World Banking in the region to support fundraising and partnership development with key stakeholders through compelling storytelling, thought leadership and impact content.

Based in Jakarta or Singapore, the role supports the regional SEA priorities in close collaboration with the regional head and broader SEA team and ensures integration with the global brand and communications strategy together with the dedicated team of marketing experts in BMC across the globe. This requires an experienced, senior marketing leader capable of and committed to amplifying WWB's impact, growing visibility, and mobilizing strategic partners, and funders through impactful and engaging marketing and communications.

Roles and Responsibilities

Global Digital

  • Own and deliver the global digital marketing channel and social media strategy including the website, email and emerging platforms in support of the organization's mission and strategic goals
  • Ensure global messaging is consistently translated and applied in regional marcomms activities
  • Collaborate closely with the global BMC team including the two CoE (Centers of Excellence) in Africa and South Asia to deliver consistent brand experience and integrated marcomms across all WWB touchpoints and channels
  • Build the global donor-focused digital community, including but not limited to social media followers, email subscribers that actively support, endorse and promote the organization's strategy and mission
  • Effectively design and manage digital campaigns that deliver visibility and measurable digital ROI including qualified lead generation and philanthropic support for the organization
  • Monitor performance of all digital communications and engagement, using suitable analytics to measure performance;
  • Apply data driven decision-making to continuously adjust and optimize digital marketing and communications across all digital touchpoints and channels
  • Oversee all digital marcomms tools, platforms and strive to utilize current marketing technology to maintain effective and efficient digital marketing governance
  • Leverage digital marcomms to maintain the organization's excellent reputation and further build brand trust and differentiation with trustworthy, inclusive, accessible and culturally digital communications
  • Keep up to date on digital and tech trends, have the passion and interest to leverage AI and have the appetite to test-and-learn to ensure all digital marketing & communications effectively engages, especially with donors & key stakeholders
  • Serve as thought partner to internal stakeholders on digital engagement and growth, guiding regional marcomms teams on digital best practice and local adaptation; keep current on digital/AI trends and direct where the delivery network applies innovation

Regional Marcomms Strategy

  • Develop the SEA visibility, communications, and engagement strategy with the Regional Head, and set the SEA marcomms plan against multi-donor program deliverables, aligned with global WWB strategy and the global content calendar directing the delivery network against both
  • Maintain the regional content calendar that reinforces and leverages the global editorial calendar
  • Set strategy and approve content for multichannel awareness campaigns and SEA social media (LinkedIn, Instagram), produced by the delivery network
  • Build and manage the network of external agencies (marketing, design, events, and freelance writers) as the primary delivery mechanism for on-brand, regionally relevant content and events including workshop/dissemination logistics (venue, invitations, sponsorships, materials)
  • Govern the SEA Salesforce database as a stakeholder engagement tool (day-to-day management delegated to in-market support), and set the strategy for engaging and managing Global Network members in SEA
  • Maintain oversight of active projects and budget allocation across the delivery network, with regular stakeholder updates; define quarterly KPIs with SEA leadership and govern reporting against them

Regional Advocacy

  • Monitor policy, industry, media, and market developments to identify opportunities for WWB SEA to contribute expertise and increase visibility; set the strategy for translating advisory insights and research into tailored communications products for policymakers, FSPs, partners, and media
  • Set content direction and approve advocacy materials – ToR, talking points, blogs, press releases, op-eds, videos, special projects — and the strategy for events/workshops showcasing SEA's advisory and policy work, both produced by the delivery network
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and high-impact media outlets; identify and pursue speaking/media opportunities for WWB SEA leadership and experts (conferences, interviews, podcasts)
  • Direct the end-to-end spokesperson process (identification, outreach, scheduling, follow-up) and set direction for briefing materials, talking points, and media Q&As, delegating coordination where appropriate
  • Govern tracking and reporting on media coverage, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership outcomes to inform future advocacy strategy

Required Qualifications

  • Significant (7+ years) and up-to-date experience in global digital marketing communications, social media, website marketing and marcomms
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of gender equality, women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion ideally from within non-profits, social-impact organizations or mission-driven brands
  • Proven track record of leading integrated digital strategies and campaigns across multiple channels, touchpoints and geographies
  • Deep understanding of audience-centric (digital) marketing, digital customer journeys and experience, analytics and digital & tech trends as well as privacy laws
  • Tech savvy and with an appetite to drive innovation and creativity by leveraging tech and AI to protect and enhance the digital brand presence and communications
  • A strong collaborator with proven ability to bridge cultures, delivering the global strategy with regional relevance and strong local execution in support of the regional WWB strategy and priorities
  • Strategic, data driven thinking paired with hands-on expertise around analytics tools such as but not limited to Google Analytics, Sprout Social, CRM platforms including Salesforce, global ad platforms e.g., Meta Ads Manager, LI Campaign Manager etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and outputs such as strategy documents, guidelines and executive communications
  • Proven ability to build digital capacity across the organization through guidance, training and shared resources
  • Working knowledge of the financial services ecosystem and the key stakeholders
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and working cross-functionally with senior leaders and experts across the organization
  • Keen to take on a leadership role in a global and divers team with humility, purpose and goal orientation
  • Experienced and comfortable working effectively in a predominantly remote setting with global, multicultural and remote teams across different time zones
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills to manage concurrent timelines, creative assets and translation of workflows across platforms, cultures and stakeholders
  • Good understanding of brand and messaging frameworks and the ability to translate into impact focused and values-driven storytelling in digital formats
  • Excellent written and spoken English, further language skills beneficial

Measure of Success

Within 75 days

  • Demonstrate understanding of the position and key priorities, and deliver recommendations and a prioritized roadmap for the WWB website and digital channels.
  • Review and refine the SEA marcomms strategy, ensuring alignment with the global marcoms strategy and identifying opportunities to strengthen visibility among funders, strategic partners and other key stakeholders
  • Assess SEA evidence (research, advisory insights, program data) and develop recommendations for a strategic communications and advocacy approach.
  • Evaluate the marcomms operating model and provide recommendations to support effective and efficient delivery.
  • Map current SEA policy/media relationships and the opportunities pipeline; identify near-term thought leadership and advocacy openings
  • Develop a prioritized advocacy execution plan and identify agency support requirements for key initiatives.
  • Assess existing contracts with external consultants and recommend changes that increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Establish proposed KPIs and reporting measures with SEA leadership under the new operating model
  • Establish a solid way of working with the SEA regional head/team and global BMC as well as good rapport with key stakeholders across the organizations with a focus on those involved in digital marketing and communications activities
  • Ensure data driven decision making and donor-forward performance approach is consistently applied in all digital marketing and communications
