Job Description

Geologist – Modelling responsible for developing, maintaining, validating, and reconciling geological, resource, and ore control block models to support mine planning and production activities. The role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate representation of the orebody through geological interpretation, grade estimation, reconciliation, and continuous model improvement. The successful candidate will have strong experience in geostatistical modelling, ore control practices, reconciliation processes, and production geology within an operating mine environment.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Develop, maintain, validate, and reconcile geological, resource, and ore control block models.
  • Support mineral resource estimation and provide modelling inputs for mine planning and production activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resource and ore control models through the integration of drilling, sampling, and production data.
  • Conduct regular reconciliation between resource models, ore control models, mine production, and mill performance, identifying opportunities for model improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with Mining, Mill, and Technical Services teams to support production forecasting, ore blending, and reconciliation initiatives.
  • Liaise with the Chief Geologist – Modelling on drilling programs, geological interpretations, resource development strategies, and modelling methodologies.
  • Supervise and review geological and geotechnical logging activities associated with infill and resource definition drilling programs.
  • Apply geostatistical techniques and industry best practices to improve model confidence and support operational decision-making.
  • Provide technical support for ore control activities, including dig block validation, ore/waste boundaries, and production reconciliation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, efficient resource utilization, continuous improvement, and effective cross-functional teamwork to maximize mineral resource value.

What skills and experience do you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience developing and maintaining geological, resource, and ore control models, including reconciliation and production support activities within an open-pit mining operation
  • Experience with ore control modelling and mine-to-mill reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in geological modelling and mining software such as MineSight, Supervisor, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of geological databases, QA/QC procedures, geostatistics, mineral resource estimation, ore control, and reconciliation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Understanding reporting standards and mining industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.

Working Location : Site Based - West Sumbawa

Roster Schedule : 4:2 (4 weeks on - 2 weeks off)
