General Manager (EMS/Cables)

Job Title: General Manager (Batam, Indonesia) - [CONFIDENTIAL POSITION]

Our client is seeking a high-caliber General Manager to spearhead the overall operations and strategic performance of our manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a seasoned industry veteran with extensive, direct experience in electronics and cable assembly operations. Unlike a purely strategic or program management role, the successful candidate must have a proven track record of managing large-scale factory environments with several thousand employees. You will hold end-to-end accountability for the business, encompassing production, quality, finance, and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Excellence & Large-Scale Management

Oversee daily factory operations, ensuring high-volume production processes are lean, efficient, and cost-effective.

Manage and lead a workforce of several thousand staff, ensuring optimal labor productivity and operational harmony.

Institutionalize Lean Manufacturing and lead continuous improvement initiatives directly on the shop floor.

2. Strategic Financial Management

Develop and execute financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and rigorous cost control.

Monitor P&L metrics and implement decisive actions to drive sustainable profitability.

3. Hands-on Leadership & Talent Development

Build and mentor a high-performance management team while remaining deeply connected to ground-level operations.

Foster a culture of accountability and motivation across all levels of the organization.

4. Quality Assurance & Customer Success

Implement robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure products meet stringent international standards.

Maintain strong relationships with key customers through technical reliability and exceptional service delivery.

5. Regulatory Compliance & EHS

Ensure strict adherence to Indonesian labor laws and international EHS regulations.

Minimum of 7-15 years of experience. Hands-on Operational Expertise: Must possess extensive, direct experience in electronics and cable manufacturing operations. We are seeking a practitioner, not just a strategist or program manager.

Scale of Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing facilities with a workforce of at least 1,0003,000+ employees.

Management Track Record: Success in a senior Plant Manager or General Manager role with full P&L responsibility.

Technical Proficiency: Deep, practical knowledge of shop-floor Lean Manufacturing, supply chain optimization, and production scaling.

Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both English and Mandarin (proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a significant plus).

Soft Skills: Decisive leadership, high (resilience), and the ability to command and inspire a large, diverse workforce.
