We are assisting a client in the coconut industry in Indonesia to hire a
General Manager Coconut Processing. This role will act as the
central pillar of the operation, responsible for overseeing the business
end-to-end, from raw material intake to finished goods, including people, process, quality, and commercial readiness.
This is a
hands-on generalist leadership role that requires strong operational judgment, broad technical understanding of coconut processing, and the ability to connect strategy with execution on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the entire coconut processing operation, including sourcing, production, quality control, logistics, and plant operations.
- Ensure smooth end-to-end processing flow (raw coconut intake processing packaging dispatch).
- Manage and develop plant teams across operations, quality, maintenance, administration, and supporting functions.
- Set operational standards, SOPs, and KPIs to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
- Maintain and improve product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance (local and export-oriented standards).
- Coordinate with commercial, supply chain, and external stakeholders to support business growth.
- Identify operational risks and improvement opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the main decision-maker at the plant level, ensuring alignment between operational realities and business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in coconut processing, agribusiness, food processing, or related manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of factory operations and end-to-end production processes.
- Demonstrated experience in a general management or senior operational leadership role.
- Comfortable working on-site and being deeply involved in day-to-day plant activities.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Experience working in Indonesia, preferably with local sourcing and factory-based teams.
