Department: Strategic Development Region Southeast Asia Business Branch
Key Responsibilities:
I. Regional Strategy & Business Development
Formulate and execute the comprehensive regional growth strategy for Southeast Asia, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities across multiple countries.
Lead the development and management of strategic relationships with key national oil companies (e.g., Pertamina, Petronas, PTTEP), international operators, and government agencies to expand market presence and revenue streams.
Direct regional market intelligence efforts, analyzing competitive landscapes, regulatory changes, and emerging trends to inform strategic decisions and identify new business models or service lines.
Oversee major regional tenders, negotiations, and contract closures, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and risk management frameworks.
II. Regional Operations & P&L Leadership
Hold full P&L responsibility for the Southeast Asia Business Unit, driving financial performance, cost optimization, and achievement of regional KPIs.
Provide strategic oversight to country operations, ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Lead, develop, and mentor a diverse, multi-cultural leadership team across the region, fostering a high-performance culture and operational excellence.
Ensure strict compliance with all regional and local regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, and HSE policies.
Qualifications:
1. Education & Background
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical), Business Administration, or related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.
Nationality: Indonesian or Malaysian nationals are highly preferred.
2. Work Experience
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil & gas or oilfield services industry, with at least 5 years in a management role in the Indonesia and/or Malaysia markets.
Prior senior management experience with a major international oilfield service company (e.g., SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford) or a leading Big Oil Company (e.g., KOC, ADNOC, PDO) is highly advantageous.
3. Professional Competencies
Deep understanding of the Southeast Asia oil & gas market dynamics, with particular expertise in Indonesia and Malaysia's regulatory, contractual, and business environments.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute market entry and expansion strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and operational optimization.
Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to manage and integrate diverse, cross-cultural teams.
4. Language & Communication
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and/or Bahasa Malaysia is highly preferred.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate effectively at both regional and local levels.
Knowledge of Chinese or other ASEAN languages is an advantage.
