Job Description

Job Title: Game Designer

Location: Jakarta

Type: Contract (6 months / 12 Months / Project Base (Depends on Performance), excluding 3‑month probation)

Start Date: Immediate

WE ARE HIRING: SYSTEMS GAME DESIGNER (IMMEDIATE START):

We are looking for a sharp, systems-driven Game Designer to step in as a core structural pillar to connect all the department for our upcoming dark fantasy roguelike deck-builder.

We need someone who can take the creative vision and run with it autonomously building pipelines, managing timelines, and driving the game forward alongside the Director, Art, and Engineering teams. If you know how to build a game from the ground up without needing a guide, we want you.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own the Systems & Balance: Deconstruct, design, and mathematically balance deep card mechanics, scaling systems, and highly strategic encounter loops.

Drive the Production Timeline: Work directly with the Director and Narrative to map out concrete development milestones, scope out features realistically and build practical execution timelines for the team.

Bridge the Departments: Act as the ultimate collaborative Center. You will coordinate daily with our Game Artists, Programmers, Directors, and Project Manager translating design specs into clear, actionable tasks for both sides.

Protect the Fun over Fluff Philosophy: Keep the project lean, surgical, and addictive. You know how to ruthlessly cut when deem to do so to protect the core gameplay loop and hit deadlines.

UI/UX Optimization for Comfortable Gameplay across the Horizon and World.

Choose Testing System that clearly is best to the Objective at hand. Knowledge of AI Testing to ensure Balancing of the Game.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

High-Level Engine & Pipeline Literacy (Unity & Godot): You aren't a 1000% software engineer, but you completely understand how things work. You know how art assets flow into the engine, how data structures became code, and how to work within technical constraints and engine strengths/weaknesses.

Autonomous Ownership: You are highly organized, proactive, and comfortable running the design

pipeline independently while staying perfectly aligned with the Director's overarching vision.

Prototyping Skill: Proven experience mapping timelines, tracking task dependencies, and managing feature scopes for strategy games or deck-builders.

HOW TO APPLY:
