Fuel Control Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control vessel fuel comsumption (HFO, MGO, etc.) across fleet operations
• Analyze fuel usage trends and identify operational inefficiencies or discrepancies
• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of fuel data (bunkering, daily consumption, ROB)
• Lead coordination with vessel crews, technical teams, and operational departments regarding fuel performance
• Verify bunker delivery notes (BDN) and ensure compliance with company procedures and maritime regulations
• Develop and implement fuel efficiency initiatives and cost optimization strategies
• Manage fuel budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities
• Conduct audits, inspections, and performance evaluations related to fuel management
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, environmental standards, and internal policies
• Prepare management reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies, or related field
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in shipping industry, preferably in fuel management, technical, or operations roles
• Proven managerial experience in leading teams and handling fuel control operations
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Familiar with fuel monitoring systems and maritime reporting tools
• Strong understanding of bunker operations, fuel efficiency practices, and operational cost management
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
