Job Profile
Here, you will be responsible for purchasing materials and services necessary for production while ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and timely delivery. Maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to quality and cost-efficiency standards, and overseeing stock control to guarantee the availability of materials during the product development process.
- Place & process purchase orders in systems for raw materials such as leather, textiles, laces, ribbons, soles, and other necessary components, ensuring timely delivery.
- Keep the Pre-order and Seasonal Portfolio updated on the PLM system to track material procurement and usage.
- Regularly evaluate supplier performance and promptly address any issues or concerns that may affect production.
- Forecast material requirements for product development.
- Monitor inventory levels closely and maintain optimal stock levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- Serve as a contact for materials-related projects, providing data and insights for system optimization and suggesting improvements.
- Manage material requests from various business units and coordinate EMCS requests from suppliers and business units.
- Sourcing from new suppliers, which implies checking payment conditions, gathering all CE documentation and getting them validated by the responsible departments, and creating suppliers in systems.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that all purchased materials meet established quality standards and specifications.
Job Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in complex MNC environments.
- Direct experience as a Purchaser or in a similar purchasing role.
- Direct experience in working on projects with tight timelines.
- Experience in using purchasing software such as SAP/Coupa or PLM software such as Centric.
- Experience working in the footwear industry is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience in procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
- Ability to analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier performance issues, and areas for improvement.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures to ensure purchased materials meet specified quality requirements.
- Understanding of inventory control principles and practices to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Precision in creating and managing purchase orders and raw material data requirements in SAP.
- Understanding of supply chain dynamics and the ability to optimize logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Willing to work in Sidoarjo, East Java.
