Position Overview
Fleet Manager will lead and optimize heavy equipment and vehicle operations across our mining site. This role is responsible for ensuring fleet reliability, availability, and cost efficiency to support production targets. The Fleet Manager plays a critical role in driving maintenance excellence, asset utilization, and operational safety, while implementing best practices in fleet management to maximize equipment performance and lifecycle value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end management of mining fleet operations, including heavy equipment and support vehicles.
- Ensure high fleet availability and reliability to meet production and operational targets.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and control fleet operating costs, including maintenance, fuel consumption, and asset utilization.
- Lead and manage maintenance teams and coordinate closely with operations to ensure seamless equipment deployment.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all fleet activities.
- Analyze fleet performance data and generate insights to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Manage relationships with vendors, OEMs, and contractors to ensure quality service, parts availability, and technical support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in fleet or heavy equipment management within mining, construction, or similar industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, reliability, and asset lifecycle management.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and large-scale equipment fleets.
- Solid understanding of HSE standards and safe work practices in mining operations.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and performance optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders.
