Job Description

The FP&A Manager will act as a key commercial partner to the leadership team, providing actionable financial insights, forecasting, and rigorous performance analysis. This role is highly visible and critical in steering pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and overall margin health during our next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

Core Reporting & Forecasting (Requested)

  • Executive Reporting: Prepare, consolidate, and present the Monthly Executive Financial Performance Report, highlighting key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Sales & Margin Forecasting: Lead the forecasting process for Sales and Gross Margin. Rigorously track monthly actuals against forecasts and historical performance, providing clear variance commentary.

Commercial & Pricing Analysis

  • Price Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses on price elasticity, modeling how pricing adjustments impact sales volume and overall gross margin.
  • Promotional ROI: Partner with the Merchandising and Marketing teams to perform pre- and post-campaign product promotion analysis. Evaluate the true net impact of discounting on foot traffic, basket size, and bottom-line margin.

Strategic Planning & Expansion

  • Budgeting & AOP: Drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly rolling forecasts in alignment with overarching company targets.
  • Store-Level P&L Management: Analyze individual store performance and unit economics. Provide financial modeling for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) to support decisions on new store openings and network expansion.
  • Inventory & Working Capital: Collaborate with the supply chain team to monitor inventory turnover, days sales of inventory (DSI), and working capital optimization to ensure healthy cash flow.
  • Business Partnering: Act as a financial sounding board for cross-functional leaders, identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving continuous improvement in reporting automation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification (CMA, CPA, ACCA) or an MBA is a strong plus.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of progressive FP&A experience, including at least 2 years in a multi-outlet Retail, Pharmacy, or FMCG environment. Hands-on ownership of a forecasting or budgeting cycle end-to-end, and prior exposure to store-level P&L, or CAPEX business cases, is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling in Excel (scenario and sensitivity modelling with large-dataset handling). Working knowledge of an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), SQL or Power Query or comparable data-extraction skills is a plus. Experience recurring management reporting are highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, strategic narratives for non-finance stakeholders. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and to manage competing deadlines across the monthly close and planning calendar.
