Finance Business Partner (Indonesia & Thailand)
Location:
Jakarta, Indonesia
Business Scope:
Overseas power plant investment and development, with a focus on renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Southeast Asia.
Position Summary
We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support our power plant investment and development business in Indonesia and Thailand. Based in Indonesia, this role will work closely with the regional business, investment, and project teams to provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, and decision support across project development and operational activities.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, project development, or investment-related industries. Candidates with Mandarin Chinese proficiency will be highly preferred due to cross-border communication needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Partnering & Financial Support
- Act as the finance business partner to the business teams in Indonesia and Thailand, supporting day-to-day financial and commercial decision-making.
- Work closely with development, investment, and functional teams to evaluate business initiatives, project costs, and operational performance.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and resource allocation.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Lead and coordinate the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and monthly rolling forecast processes for the Indonesia and Thailand businesses.
- Monitor actual performance against budget/forecast and analyze key variances.
- Prepare regular management reports, including business performance reviews, budget tracking, cash flow updates, and financial commentary.
3. Project & Investment Financial Analysis
- Support project-level financial analysis for power and renewable energy development projects, including CAPEX/OPEX tracking, profitability analysis, and investment return review.
- Assist in evaluating project economics, financial assumptions, and business cases for new development and investment opportunities.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Cost Control & Performance Monitoring
- Track project development spending and operating expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Identify financial risks, cost overruns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Support the implementation of financial controls, performance KPIs, and process improvements across the business.
5. Cross-functional Coordination
- Liaise with local business teams, regional finance, headquarters, and external advisors where necessary.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis, management presentations, and strategic planning exercises.
- Facilitate communication between local teams and Chinese-speaking stakeholders when required.
Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience in:
- Finance Business Partnering
- FP&A
- Corporate Finance
- Project Finance support
- Commercial Finance
- Prior experience in renewable energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, EPC, project development, or investment-related sectors is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
- Good understanding of financial statements, cost control, and business performance analysis.
- Experience in project-based or multi-country business environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial systems/ERP tools is an advantage.
Language Skills
- English proficiency is required.
- Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred.
- Bahasa Indonesia and/or Thai language ability would be a plus.
